Summary
1750- In the small village at the African west coast Kunta Kinte is born. At the age 15 he is sent to manhood camp.

1765- While Kunta Kinte looks for a log to make a drum he is captured by slave hunters and is carried on a ship to North America where he is sold to Mr. Reynolds and Kunta Kinte gets the name Toby. Mr. Reynold's english speaking slave named Fiddler teaches Kunta how to become a "good nigger"

1776- Kunta gets caught for the three times he tries to escape. His fourth attempt was to find Fanta ( a girl from his tribe) and gets caught. His foot gets chopped off and another slave, Bell who belongs to Mr. Reynolds, aids Toby.

1790- Toby and Bell get married and has the brother of Mr. Reynolds as their new owner. Bell gives birth a new daughter named Kizzy which means "stay put" in Toby's tribe language. Fiddler dies under a tree next to Toby.

1806- At the age of 16 Kizzy meets an old friend and daughter of Mr. Reynolds named Missy Ann. Kizzy's boyfriend Noah plans to escape by having Kizzy to forge a passport. He gets caught and Kizzy is sold to Thomas Moore. Kizzy gets raped by her new owner and gives birth to George. Kizzy teaches George her family roots.

1820- George becomes a master chicken handler and gets the nickname Chicken-George for the rest of this life. At the age of 18 George meets Matilda and they get married. They get three children and one is named Tom. Chicken George losses a chicken fight with high stakes and gets sent to England to pay off the depts.

1861- George comes back a free man and returns to his family who are still slaves. George leaves because the policy states that he can only stay no longer than 60 days or he will become a slave. Tom marries Irene and has children. Tom teaches them about their family roots. Tom becomes friends with a man named "OL George" and Martha.

1866-Slavery is abolished. Tom and his family get attacked by a man named Master Brent and the night riders later known as KKK. Master Brent gets tricked into coming to the farm where he is caught by Tom and George. The whole family settles in Henning Tenessee.

1895- A girl is born to Cynthia and Will. Her name is Bertha George. Bertha marries Alexander Hayley in the year of 1920 Bertha bears a boy whose name is Alexander Palmer Haley.
